Old Testament prophesies fulfilled by Jesus
Over three hundred old testament prophesies were literally fulfilled by Jesus during his first coming. He was born in Bethlehem as prophesied, adored by shepherds, wise men and angels as prophesied, he went to Egypt as prophesied. Much of where Jesus lived, who he ministered to, what he said, what he did was all prophesied.
Below are twelve detailed prophesies surrounding his sacrifice on the cross and the details of his death. They cover the five days from Palm Sunday to Passover.
1) Persecuted by His own:
- Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Fulfilled in N.T. scripture:
- John 1: 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

- Mark 11: 7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:10 Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.

Fulfilled in N.T. scripture:
- Rom 5: 6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
8) Crucified between two thieves.
- Isaiah 53: 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
